SHOW STREAM - “Show” classes will focus on developing sequences and the art of performance—the main focus will be creating a routine to perform at the Student Showcase at the Capitol Theatre. “Show” classes are only open for registration in the Fall, and require a year long commitment (September - June)—they are not offered per term. Students who participate in the show will be required to pay a “Show Fee” in the spring.
SKILLS STREAM - “Skill” classes will work on strength, conditioning and skills development—as they always have. “Skill” classes will not be performing in the Student Showcase. “Skill” classes open each term for re-registration (September & January for kids & Youth, September, January & April for Adults)—as per usual.
ARTIST EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM STREAM - “Artist Empowerment Program” (AEP) is a creative development program for circus artists ready to take their training beyond the weekly class. Explore all circus disciplines, create original work, and perform in the Student Showcase, with additional opportunities for performances, special events, and community outreach throughout the year. “AEP” classes are only open for registration in the Fall, and require a year long commitment (September - June)—they are not offered per term. -

Yes! Circus is for everyone. You don’t need any experience to start. Check out our Intro to Aerial Classes or Level 1 posted on our Schedule page. Circus Kiddos is also a great place for the little ones to start.
-
Discover Circus’ open gym time is posted on our schedule. During open gym time anyone who has been approved to attend by their instructor can use the space to practice aerials, acro and/or flow arts.
We get a lot of requests for more open gym time. As a small non-profit, we don't always have the staffing capacity to offer additional sessions, and since we're primarily a school, priority time slots go to scheduled classes. Keep an eye on our schedule for any open gym slots we're able to add.
-
Always come to class with a refillable water bottle and your hair tied back.
We advise opting for comfortable and breathable workout attire that facilitates unrestricted movement, similar to yoga or dancewear. Loose-fitting clothes are discouraged, especially for classes involving inverted movements like handstands or silks or bar apparatus’ where loose shirts can get wrapped up or caught by the apparatus.
When attending classes involving the trapeze, hoop, silks or other apparatuses (such as Aerial Conditioning), it is most comfortable to wear workout pants that extend to cover the knees.
Please remember no zippers, jewelry, perfumes or lotions, as they can damage the equipment.

Lots of students stay in the same levels for a year or even more! Our leveling system is long term and judged by each instructor specifically. If your child hasn't been given the go ahead to advance to a new level they should still continue in the same one they were in previously. Having students in the wrong level can be a safety concern for everyone.
